The MIAA SAAC will annually
select a mentor of the year in the MIAA. This shall be an individual
who has had a profound impact on the lives of student-athletes
on campus throughout the year or throughout his/her career. This
person may not be employed in the athletics department.
Each institutional SAAC shall
nominate (select) an individual from their campus annually and
submit to the conference office not later than April 1. The conference
SAAC will review the nominations and vote on the conference-wide
recipient. The MIAA assistant commissioner and MIAA coordinator
for external affairs shall also have a vote in the selection process.
When submitting institutional
nominees, the institutional SAAC shall provide a written summary
(and any supporting documentation) with the nomination.
